Sunshine and Smiles at Hurtmore Golf Club

Sunshine and Smiles at Hurtmore Golf Club

The West London Golf Society enjoyed another fantastic outing at Surrey's beautiful Hurtmore Golf Club this past weekend. Blessed with picture-perfect spring weather, our members were treated to blue skies, sunshine, and excellent course conditions, making for a memorable day of golf and camaraderie.

Breakfast and Beginnings

The day began with our traditional breakfast gathering, where members caught up over coffee and bacon sandwiches before heading out to tackle the course. The clubhouse table card welcoming the "West London Golf Society Breakfast Tables" set the tone for the day's hospitality. Many thanks to the Hurtmore staff for their warm welcome and excellent service throughout the day.

Course Conditions

Hurtmore's course was in splendid condition, with the recent good weather allowing for firm fairways and responsive greens. The water features were particularly picturesque, with several members commenting on the mirror-like reflections creating perfect photo opportunities. The course's layout provided a good challenge for golfers of all abilities, with the par 3s proving mainly testing.

Competition Results

After a hard-fought round, prizes were awarded during our post-golf gathering on the clubhouse patio. Congratulations to all our winners and especially to those who took home trophies. The competitive spirit was high, but as always, the emphasis remained on enjoyment and friendship.

Special mention goes to our nearest the pin and longest drive winners, who displayed impressive skill on the day. The friendly rivalry between fourballs added more fun to the proceedings.

Social Highlights

The day was filled with laughter and good spirits. From group shots by the clubhouse to on-course selfies, it's clear that the social aspect of our society remains as important as the golf itself. The camaraderie between members, both new and longstanding, continues to be the hallmark of the West London Golf Society.

It was particularly pleasing to see such a diverse turnout, with several new faces joining our regular members. The society's welcoming atmosphere was displayed, and experienced players were happy to offer tips and encouragement to newer golfers.

Looking Ahead: Hampton Court Palace Golf Club

We're already looking forward to our next event, which will take place at the prestigious Hampton Court Palace Golf Club. This historic venue offers a different challenge, with its deer park setting and royal connections adding an extra dimension to the day.

Bookings for the Hampton Court event are now open on our website, and we anticipate high demand, so early registration is recommended. As usual, the day will include breakfast, 18 holes of golf, and our prize-giving ceremony, followed by optional drinks and dinner for those wishing to extend the day.

Thank You

A sincere thank you to everyone who participated in making the Hurtmore Day such a success—from the organizing committee to each and every player. Special thanks also to Hurtmore Golf Club for its hospitality and excellent course maintenance.

We're delighted to report that despite high demand (as evidenced by the "Sold Out" sign on the Guinness tap at the bar!), the day ran smoothly from start to finish.
