The West London Golf Society enjoyed some challenging golfing conditions for our monthly competition at the prestigious Hampton Court Palace Golf Club. With clear blue skies, lots of wind, and the stunning royal palace as a backdrop, members were treated to a memorable day on one of the finest courses in the Home Counties.
Course Conditions
Hampton Court Palace Golf Club presented itself in ok condition. The fairways were lush and well-defined, while the greens ran true and at a challenging pace. Several members commented on challenging greens and bunkers.
The par-3 5th hole over water proved particularly challenging, while the signature 14th hole alongside the palace walls offered both a visual treat and a strategic test. The recent course improvements around the 9th and 10th holes were widely praised, adding both challenge and visual appeal to an already outstanding layout.
Competition Results
Our monthly Stableford competition saw thirty members competing in fine conditions. The recently implemented handicap changes created an exciting and closely contested event.
